Fort Matilda Tennis Club welcomes new players and old to their coaching programmes.

Please come along and give it a try.



Fort Matilda Tennis Camp - 11th April- 15th April

5-9yrs - 10am-12noon, 

10-15yrs – 1pm -3pm

Members £6 per day or £25 per week,
Non members £7 per days or £30 per week,
Second child or more (siblings) pay half price

Pre-booking is advisable!

Ross has recently been appointed as Head Coach.

More details to follow. 


Calum is currently working towards his Level 3 coaching qualification and has been coaching for 3-4 years. He has coached children and also adults at the Club.  He has played tennis for 6 or 7 years and was the G&D and Fort Matilda Tennis Club Mens' Singles champion in 2014.

Calum has studied for his HND Sports Coaching at City of Glasgow College and is now a full time coach across both clubs in Greenock (Fort Matilda and Ardgowan). Calum runs a programme of junior and adult coaching at the two clubs and is also available for individual lessons upon request. 

He has solid experience of working with children during his college course, and has also coached children with disabilities in schools in Glasgow and Inverclyde.  Calum has also organised school sports days.

His favourite player is Roger Federer. 

Fun fact: Calum is allergic to apples! 


Jack has achieved his Level 1 coaching qualification and has been coaching for around a year.  He has played tennis for 4 years and was the Under 18 Mens'  Doubles Fort Matilda Tennis Club Doubles champion (with Cameron Hyde) in 2014.

Jack is a member of the Active Schools Club, and helps out with PE for younger pupils at school. 

His favourite player is Novak Djokovic. 

Fun fact: Jack can grow an afro!


Mark has played tennis for 14 years and has been coaching for 3 to 4 years.  

Mark has strong experience of working with children as he has been a Cub Leader for 3 1/2 years and has also spent 2 summers at a Summer Camp in upstate New York.  At the Summer Camp Mark coached Tennis and other activities. 

Mark recently completed his BA Honours in Risk Management at Glasgow Caledonian University, however still loves coaching so continues at Fort Matilda on Saturdays. 

His favourite player is Lleyton Hewitt.

Fun fact: Mark has never broken a bone!


Cameron has played tennis for 4 years and has been coaching for a year. 

Cameron was the Under 18 Mens'  Doubles Fort Matilda Tennis Club Doubles champion (with Jack Sweeney) in 2014.  Cameron has also been the Junior Boys' Club Champion for 3 years.

His favouite player is Andy Murray.

Fun fact: Cameron is the youngest but tallest coach!
